The UPSA Outreach Program
The UPSA goes the extra mile and reaches out not only to those who support and cheer for them in their concerts but also to the underprivileged who are not only deprived economically but of some pleasures of life, like simply listening to quality music.
UPSA Outreach Program includes institutional visits to homes for the aged, orphanages, hospital wards and even prisons throughout the Philippines. Recipients of these artistic goodwill and fund-raising activities include scholars and musicians of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan and Bahay Mapagmahal (1982 & 1998) orphans, prisoners, terminally-ill patients in its Visayan (1990) & Northern Luzon (1993) concert tours; AIDS patients in San Lazaro Hospital (2004); residents of the Golden Acres (1995-1998); streetchildren of Philamlife’s annual “Christmas Concert Treat for Children” (1996-2005); autistic children of ANTA Foundation, Inc. (Advocacy Nest-Therapy for the Autistic), 1997; the mentally-handicapped children of Ang Arko Ng Pilipinas (1997); poor law students assisted by U.P. Alpha Phi Beta fraternity (2004); farming students supported by Pampamilyang Paaralang Agrikultura Inc.; PGHGH patients (2005); and most recently the children beneficiaries of DSWD & GMA 7’s “Sing For Me” (2007) — have enjoyed and benefited from the music of UPSA.
The Group will continue to sing and dance not just for the sake of music but also for charity and lifelong friendship with the less fortunate ones.

The project was conceptualized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the benefit of disadvantaged Filipino children.

A tie-up with Channel 7 facilitated its simultaneous broadcast all over the country and abroad also aimed for the event to qualify in the Guinness Book of World Records of the biggest number of people gathered, and singing together at one time. Bi-monthly concerts were held at SM Malls and/or venues hosted by local government units in Metro Manila.
